Third Friday Presents: Maritime Architecture of the Upper Peninsula

Friday, July 18th at 7pm

Maritime Architecture of the Upper Peninsula is a visual tour of the region's architecture, with a focus on its legacy of mining, shipping, and maritime trade. The visual lecture and slideshow will feature original photos as well as archival images, using architecture to explore the history of industry, shipping, and labor in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Josh Lipnik is a Detroit-based architectural photographer, writer, and public speaker. A graduate of the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, his photos have been featured in publications including Chicago Reader, Belt Magazine, and Financial Times. Josh is also the photographer behind CMM's current temporary exhibit: Maritime Midwest Modern.
