MODEL WATERCRAFT

Models help our imaginations conceive of magnificent watercraft that no longer ply the seas.

Visual depictions of original watercraft, many of which no longer exist on the seas, are an instrumental asset to maritime scholars who seek to understand or describe historical ships. The Chicago Maritime Museum houses many models of ships that have made significant contributions to the history of Chicago.
